On a beautiful summer day, my partner helped me sand the door.

Elevator - this is the sound of an elevator opening, closing, and the sound it makes when you are inside.

I could hear a bath running in the next room and waited until it stopped, placed the recorder under the door.

This is traffic outside my office on ventura boulevard, recorded in the lobby with the front door closed. The traffic is still fairly present, because there's a mail slot in the door which allows quite a bit of the sound through. Recorded with: sanken cs-1e, fostex fr2le.

This is several swings of a huge rusty dumpster door - it varies in pitch and volume, and there is a little bit of background noise. Good for sound effects work. It's particularly good if you happen to be looking for the sound of a particularly deranged tuba!.

I let off fireworks inside a silo. Unfortunately the best audio i got was from the gopro inside. Compiled a number of different clips with background field sounds all recorded on a nikon d3200 dslr using windows moviemaker and then converting the sound track into wav format. Recording of a door being opened and closed, and then opened and closed again. Very slight footsteps (on carpet) can be heard. The microphone (sennheiser mkh-50) was intentionally placed about 5 feet away from the door and aimed slightly off-axis so as to capture more of the natural room sound/reverb. I have another recording available of the exact same door and mic setup, but aimed on-axis for a more direct recording (it still has a slight bit of room sound - that was what i wanted for these two recordings). Recorded into a tascam 208i audio interface and into adobe audition. Very minor processing (low-cut at 80hz to remove low-freq rumble).
